Sameer Menon

49 yrs.old .Born at Korba, in Chattisgarh. Has been practising since 34yrs. He started at the age of 14 with the well known song of Kishore Da, Jhum jhum jhum jhum jhumroo - Jhumroo. His School Principal heard him humming this song and made him sing on the stage on 26th Jan'64. After that all the students of his school used to ask him to sing two lines of kishore da's song. When he was in college in the yr. 1973-74(Bilaspur), his gang created a small band. They used to perform on small festival. For performing duet he had found a lady named, Manju Jain. Today he is married to the same lady. He had a love marriage. His childhood name is "babu" after the release of movie "aradhna" in 1970. he became quite famous in his neighbourhood for singing kishore da's songs. He does riaaz for 15 hrs . His 18 yr old daughter is his teacher . He has changed many jobs and his father asked him to leave home at the age of 18. he is married to his co-singer. He started doing shows from 1960. Kishore Kumar ke geet ko sunte sunte riaaz kiya. No guru and no formal practice. He loves having Fish because its the favorite dish of Kishore Kumar.
